Συνέλευση εναντια στις επερχομενες απολυσεις στην IRC
ΕΝΑΝΤΙΑ ΣΤΙΣ ΕΠΕΡΧΟΜΕΝΕΣ ΑΠΟΛΥΣΕΙΣ ΣΤΗΝ IRC - Κάλεσμα σε συνέλευση 13/4 // Against the upcoming Dism

Την πρώτη Απριλίου η IRC ανακοίνωσε στους εργαζόμενους της ότι προτίθεται να κλείσει τα γραφεία που παρείχαν υπηρεσίες ψυχοκοινωνικής υποστήριξης σε Σάμο, Μυτιλήνη και Αθήνα - και δεν ήταν ψέμα. Με αυτή την απόφαση, περισσότερα από 20 εργαζόμενα περνάνε στην ανεργία. Εχει προηγηθεί το κλείσιμο των γραφείων της Χίου που προκάλεσε την απώλεια άλλων 7 θέσεων εργασίας.
Στο ΣΒΕΜΚΟ αναγνωρίζουμε ότι οι θέσεις εργασίας μας κάλυπταν και καλύπτουν πάγιες και διαρκείς ανάγκες των εξυπηρετούμενων, οι οποίες όχι μόνο δεν παύουν αλλά επιδεινώνονται μέγιστα όταν απολυόμαστε. Λίγο μας ενδιαφέρει το πως οι εργοδότριες ΜΚΟ βρίσκουν τις χρηματοδοτήσεις τους. Με τις ΜΚΟ υπογράφουμε τις συμβάσεις εργασίας μας και είναι δική τους υποχρέωση η προστασία και διατήρηση των θέσεων μας,τις οποίες δε θα σταματήσουμε να διεκδικούμε.
Γι' αυτό, δεν μπορούμε παρα να υψώσουμε τη φωνή μας, δεν μπορούμε παρα να απαιτήσουμε την διατήρηση όλων των θέσεων εργασίας στα προγράμματα τηςIRC.Καλούμε τις συναδέλφισσες και τους συναδέλφους της IRC να συμμετάσχουν στις διαδικασίες του σωματείου για να αποφασίσουμε μαζί με ποιους τρόπους θα παλέψουμε. Να αντισταθούμε στον κυρίαρχο λόγο, που δικαιολογεί την υποτίμηση κάποιων,-είτε είναι εργαζόμενες/οι , είτε είναι πρόσφυγες/ισσες-, και τα προνόμια κάποιων άλλων. Δεν είναι μόνο για τις θέσεις εργασίας σε κάποια γραφεία μιας ΜΚΟ. Είναι και για την αξιοπρέπεια όλων.

On April 1, IRC announced to its staff that it intends to close offices providing psychosocial support services in Samos, Mytilene and Athens - and it was not a prank. This decision leads more than 20 workers to unemployment. Earlier this year, IRC decided to shut down its office in Chios, resulting to the loss of 7 jobs.
At SVEMKO we recognize that our jobs have always covered and are still covering the constant and ongoing needs of the beneficiaries. Needs which not only do not cease but deteriorate greatly when we are fired. It is of little interest to us how NGOs find their funding. We sign our contracts with NGOs and it is their obligation to protect and maintain our positions, a right which we will not stop to stand up for.
This is why we cannot do anything else but raise our voice and demand the preservation of all job positions at IRC's projects. We invite our IRC colleagues to attend and participate at SVEMKO's assembly so that we will decide together the common way through which we will fight back. We should resist to the sovereign speech that justifies the devaluation of some lives - either the workers' or the refugees' - and the privileges of others. It's not just about jobs in some NGO offices. It is also for the dignity of all.
